Any "decisions" that need to be made along the way should be voted upon. I am not trying to lord over the group, and want all involved to enjoy it, and we should be able to get along fine as a few adults should. I have no problem with there being women on the journey, with guys bringing girls, or girls bringing guys, but we should aim for as many of us to have "survival skills" as possible.
We should have at LEAST one man for every three that is good at hunting, trapping and fishing.
We also need "a couple" who are good at identifying edible plants and herbs.
We should all have a basic working knowledge of how to build a shelter in the wild, and it is recommended that we all also have tents, and know how to build fires, and properly contain them in a forest environment.
As a group, we will, of course, have some individuals who are "weaker" than others, and we should take them into consideration during the hiking and navigational process. I would not feel right making a rule about physical strength on this expedition.
We should all have a working knowledge on how to use a compass, tie a knot, set up a tent, use a knife, etc...
Everyone coming along must have respect for the woods, and nature. Littering, destroying the forest, making uncontrollable fires, etc.. is disrespectful to nature.
Except for that last pointer, the rest of this is not really "rules", but recommendations. It will not take someone very long to learn how to do some of this stuff if they do not already know how, and so we should not try to be "exclusive" in who may join in the adventure here....
God Bless!
