If you have knowledge or experience in the following categories, and you want to have a certain "role" in the group, let me know! Just bring the proper equipment... I don't want some to have to carry a significantly larger load than others, so I have placed certain items under different title headings. For example, the "Fire" equipment should be carried by the Hiking and Nav. experts, so that the hunters aren't carrying double the equipment. He should be the lead man in setting up camp, and so him bearing the "Fire" supplies is suitable. The equipment to cook food with (pots, pans, utensils) should be carried by our edible plants expert, because he has no "special" equipment he needs, other than a couple books. Please provide any additional opinions! Thanks...
Hunters:
bow (crossbow or compound bow) arrows spare arrowheads ALOT of fishing string LOTS of fishing hooks fishing weights snare wire sling shot & spare straps (and a knowledge of how to use all of them) Hiking & Nav. Experts: different types of compasses (no batteries) maps long climbing rope several containers of "Storm Matches" 40-50 good lighters lots of flint and magnesium at LEAST 1 Machete good, durable knives 5 or so 50' strands of Para cord (and a thorough understanding of navigation |
"Doctors":
A couple books on Medicinal plants an emergency supply of aspirin and the like emergency "cold" medicine bandages, gauze pads, etc... rubbing alcohol tourniquets splints at least 2 water purifiers water purification tablets ETC... (and a good working knowledge of natural medicine) "Green" Scouts: at least one book on edible plants cooking utensils for several ppl. pots n pans a grill grate for camping lots of matches and lighters waterproof matches (and much knowledge about the identification and preparation of plants and herbs, along with a good knowledge of the poisonous look-a-likes) |
